(Post Today file photo)It is actually good news that new and improved diagnostic tools have become available to detect and thus fight the Zika virus. Last weekend the Health Department of Bangkok announced 21 newly detected cases of the Zika virus. Last week, the Public Health Ministry in effect just waved off new cases reported in the North and East. With the Zika virus, it is also important for public health authorities at every level to move off the dead centre. The Zika outbreak, with its dangerous implications for knock-on consequences for both the newborn and adults, requires a multi-level effort.
